A tragic incident occurred in Hong Kong when a Filipino tourist lost his life after being struck by a taxi. The Philippine consulate general has reported that the victim, a 35-year-old male, succumbed to injuries from a vehicular accident that took place on August 5, 2025, in the Tsuen Wan West area.
The Filipino consulate confirmed the details and indicated that the taxi driver involved in the incident is currently in police custody. Authorities are conducting an official investigation into the accident, and the consulate is in close coordination with the Hong Kong Police Force to facilitate this process.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the taxi veered off course and crashed into the facade of a hotel, colliding with the tourist who was nearby at the time. The victim’s remains have been transferred to the Kwai Chung Public Mortuary.
The consulate is actively assisting the victim’s family, who are expected to travel to Hong Kong shortly to make arrangements for the repatriation of his remains back to the Philippines.
