A shocking and brutal killing unfolded in Digos City on Tuesday evening, when a barangay captain was shot dead while streaming live on Facebook, sending viewers into panic as the attack was captured in real time.
According to initial police reports, the victim — identified as a barangay captain of a local village in Digos City — was in the middle of a live broadcast when an unidentified suspect approached and opened fire. The victim collapsed on-screen as horrified viewers witnessed the incident unfold without warning.
Authorities confirmed that the barangay official sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was declared dead shortly after.
Investigators are now reviewing the Facebook Live recording, as well as CCTV footage in the area, to identify the assailant and determine the motive behind the attack.
