On August 5, 2025, a disturbing incident occurred in Pasay City, where a man stabbed his wife out of jealousy. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was walking along Andrews Avenue in Barangay 184 when her husband, known only as Boy, attacked her from behind following an argument.
According to police reports, the woman had just come from a wake when the attack took place. Initial investigations revealed that Boy, 44 years old, was under the influence of alcohol at the time and acted on suspicions of infidelity.
Local authorities, led by Capt. Glen Ramos Mangalindan of the Maricaban police substation, quickly responded to the scene, arriving within five minutes. When Boy regained consciousness and was questioned, he admitted he had no substantial evidence to support his suspicions.
Barangay councilman Ceasaria Alota shared that the couple had previously sought reconciliation at the barangay hall in April, where the woman had promised to return home if Boy would amend his behavior. However, social media activity suggested that the couple continued to struggle with jealousy issues.
As of now, the victim is reported to be in stable condition, though the incident raises critical questions about the underlying issues of jealousy and domestic violence. Boy is currently held at the Pasay police station, where he has expressed remorse and asked for forgiveness from his wife.
This case serves as a reminder of the severe consequences that jealousy and alcohol can lead to in relationships, highlighting the importance of addressing such issues constructively before they escalate to violence.
