MANILA, Philippines — The bus driver who was assaulted by a businessman during a road rage incident in Silang, Cavite has decided not to pursue criminal charges, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PNP Public Information Chief Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the altercation took place last Saturday, after the businessman’s wife sideswiped a bus with their pickup truck. The bus driver reportedly stopped his vehicle and cursed at the couple, leading to the confrontation.
“Na-settle naman kinabukasan yung kaso at nag-execute ng affidavit of no interest to file criminal charges yung driver ng bus,” Tuaño said in a press briefing at Camp Crame.
He added that both parties reached a settlement, in which the businessman agreed to shoulder ₱40,000 for medical and moral damages and ₱18,000 for bus repairs.
