A tragic incident has transpired involving the murder of Nestor Calalo, a 36-year-old car repair shop owner. His lifeless body was discovered in his vehicle, which was parked along the highway in Barangay Loob, San Antonio, Quezon, the day after the crime occurred. Authorities reported that Calalo was shot dead by four assailants in Rosario, Batangas, on a Monday.
Maj. Kaywin Ballogan, the police chief of San Antonio, stated that the attackers dumped Calalo’s body in Quezon to divert attention from their actions. This act appears to be a calculated attempt to mislead police investigators.
In a developing story, one of the suspects, who was previously employed by Calalo, surrendered to the police. During questioning, the suspect denied involvement in the murder, asserting that he merely happened to be at the crime scene when the shooting took place. Investigators are currently treating robbery as a potential motive for the murder, especially since a significant amount of money — approximately P700,000 — was reported missing from the victim at the time of his death.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to gather more evidence and bring the remaining suspects to justice.
