Cebu Fisherman Found Dead After a Week at Sea

A fisherman who had been missing for a week was discovered floating lifeless in the waters off Barangay Bato, Toledo City, Cebu, around 7 a.m. on March 1, 2025. Authorities identified the victim as Neil Sintos, a resident of Anunang Sur, Bogo City, Cebu. His live-in partner, Jessica Abulan, confirmed his identity. According to an initial investigation by the Toledo City Police Station, two fishermen spotted the floating body and immediately brought it to shore before reporting it to barangay officials.

Abulan revealed that Sintos left home on February 22 to go fishing in a nearby town, San Remigio, but never returned. She reported him missing to the San Remigio Police Station after he failed to come home. She suspects that he drowned while fishing. When found, the victim’s body was already in an advanced stage of decomposition. Authorities immediately transported it to a funeral home.
